Rock N Roll Mamas showing in Colorado Springs over Memorial Day Weekend

Hi All,

If you are in Colorado this Memorial Day weekend, go see Rock N Roll Mamas!  It’s going to show at 7pm on May 25th as part of the MeadowGrass Music Festival in Colorado Springs.

Original Rock Mama, Kristin Hersh, will be playing the festival at 5pm on the Main Stage that day.  After her performance, Rock N Roll Mamas will show at the Ponderosa Lodge in La Foret (where the festival takes place).  Kristin  will participate in a Q and A following the film and I, Jackie Weissman, the director, will also Skype in for that.

Should be a great event!  Excited to participate in this amazing festival.  Tickets are available here if you want to go, http://www.meadowgrass.org/Tickets.html

Hope you can make it!

Take care.

Jackie

Rock N Roll Mamas’ Fantastic Team

Today I as I watched my current cut of Rock N Roll Mamas with my producer, Tara Johnson-Medinger, polish editor, Emily von Gilbert, and sound mixer, Russ Gorsline, I was struck by how much their support and hard work has helped the film get this far.

Film is a collaborative medium and a film is only as good as the team behind it.

I consider myself very lucky as a director to have such a dedicated team to help me finish the film and get it out into the world.  Tara, Emily, Russ, and Chris Borges-Silva (color correction), thank you so much for doing so much to help Rock N Roll Mamas!  I couldn’t have finished this film without you all!  Thank you!

Rock N Roll Mamas is applying to film festivals

Hi All,

Lately, I’ve been submitting Rock N Roll Mamas to festivals which is very exciting.

Last week I submitted to SXSW where we hope to premiere and yesterday I submitted to Tribeca Film Festival.  I’ve also sent the film to various documentary film festivals including Big Sky and True/False.

I really want the film to be seen by a wide audience as I think it will make a strong impact on how folks feel about indie musicians and artists mothers.  These folks work hard; the film shows that!

The plan for the film is to go through the festival circuit and then approach distributors and sales reps. Distributors and sales reps like to see festival laurels on the films they sell; our team is following the feedback we’ve gotten from them.

As such, I’m applying to more festivals, about one to two a month.  I’ll keep you posted on the festival progress in future blog posts and will go back over the whole process of making the film from pre-production until now.  It will be nice to get the entire story written down…

Let me know if you have questions or want to hear about something specific in the film’s trajectory.

Thanks for your interest in Rock N Roll Mamas!

Jackie

Rock N Roll Mamas is moving out into the world!

Hi All,

Picture is locked on Rock N Roll Mamas (for folks not in the film biz, this means we are done editing the cut and are not making anymore changes); we’re moving into the color correction, sound mixing stage.  It’s very exciting.

My producer, Tara Johnson-Medinger, will be taking the film to the American Film Market next month to shop it around to distributors.  Distributors look highly on films that have a lot of likes on Facebook.  As such, we’re trying to expand our reach and get up to 1000 likes by November 1.  Please help us achieve this and like our page if you haven’t already and spread the word, https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rock-N-Roll-Mamas/118102004889463?ref=ts&fref=ts

Thanks so much for all of your continued support.

I’ll keep you posted on the film’s further progress as it happens.

Take good care.

Jackie
